IT ALL STARTED IN A SMALL TOWN IN GERMANY | KAPPLER’S HISTORY

In 1947, Berta and Erwin Kappler started a small carpenter shop in a small town in Germany, shortly after World War II. They named it Kappler, after their family name.

Today, over seven decades later, Kappler still embodies the spirit of family. What began as a small carpenter shop has evolved into an internationally leading design firm, revolutionizing dental and medical offices through workflow solutions, interior design, architecture, and custom-made furniture.

One day, Rudi Kappler, the son of Berta and Erwin, was fishing on the Nagold River when he met a stranger. They struck up a conversation, and Rudi mentioned that he was a carpenter.

The conversation soon took a significant turn. The stranger turned out to be a doctor struggling with organization in his practice. The doctor needed help organizing his charts, which inspired something substantial.

Rudi Kappler promised to assist him and created a new cart system, optimizing its design, adding wheels, and eventually designing a matching desk frame.

Thus, the idea of specializing in medical practice furnishings was born. A day by the river in the Black Forest marked the beginning of what Kappler is today.

1947 KAPPLER IS BORN

Erwin + Berta Kappler started the company as a small carpenter shop.

1975 KAPPLER FOCUSES ON DOCTORS WORKSPACE AND FOUNDS MED+ORG

MED+ORG is founded in Villingen-Schwenningen.

1994 KAPPLER MOVES TO THE CURRENT HQ IN GERMANY

Opening of an 800 m² showroom in Wittstock an der Dosse near Berlin, focusing on the development and distribution of products for exclusive office and commercial interiors.
